Motability Application - Stage Four

Handover Of New Car - At your retailer

If there are any changes made these may be amended prior to printing the agreement. Your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer will click on ‘change vehicle details’ to make the required amendments.

To complete the process of handing over the vehicle, your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer will click on “Confirm Customer Handover”.

They will be required to confirm that the vehicle description is the exact vehicle that is being delivered. Incorrect description will incur a £100 ad hoc penalty!!

Complete the following details:

  • Actual delivery date
  • Registration number
  • Chassis number (VIN)
  • Registration date
  • Radio/Key codes
  • Paint type/colour

You will now be asked to confirm that you will sign the agreement electronically using PIN.

If you have forgotten the PIN a facility has been provided to enable you to receive a text message or email, re-confirming your PIN (click on ‘Retrieve PIN’ to access), providing a mobile number or email address was given by you on the application stage. If the above details have not been entered your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer should call the Dealer Contact Centre on 0870 111 8885 whilst you are present to verify your PIN.

If you are signing electronically using your PIN, you will be required to confirm your ‘Online Insurance Summary’ is correct. Your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer will now download the ‘Insurance Loss & Damage Protection Statement of Fact’ (first 5 pages only) and hand it to you prior to entering your PIN. There is no requirement for any signatures or to forward a copy to Motability Operations.

Enter the CP50 safe date (if required). Your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer will need to keep the CP50 for your file.

You will then be asked if the have read the Terms and Conditions prior to entering their PIN.

Your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer will enter their PIN and once the PIN has been validated they will go to the final page and submit handover.

Once the handover has been successfully completed, you be asked to wait a short while before they click OK. Your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer can then download and print off the electronically signed Contract Hire agreement and the final page (page 6) of the Insurance Loss and Damage Protection Statement of Fact and hand to you for your reference. You will be provided with the terms and conditions booklet, cover note and Welcome Pack.

No signatures are necessary and Motability Operations do not require any documentation. An electronic signature and date will appear on the Agreement and Insurance Loss and Damage Protection Statement of Fact confirming the electronically signed documents.

If the you have chosen Motability Managed Adaptations on your vehicle, you should be given a customer’s adaptations receipt/invoice, along with the Terms and Conditions and make sure you pay your retailer for these items, as you will only get billed if not.

An e-signed agreement will go “Live” automatically 10 days after handover.
