Motability Application - Stage Three

Handback of Old Vehicle (if applicable).

Should you have a return vehicle your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer must record details of this vehicle online (if not move to Stage 6).

Your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer will click on “Confirm Vehicle Handback” and will then be asked to enter some search information for the returning vehicle, either the ARN or registration number. They will confirm the mileage of the vehicle, whether you have the keys and the service book. If the Handback date is after the date the vehicle should or originally been handed back your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability will be asked to choose a reason from the drop down list.

Your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer will be asked to complete a Vehicle Condition Description (VCD). You must check around the car with your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer and record the condition on the manual VCD form.

If there is any damage that has been caused by a Mobility aid you will be able to indicate this on the online form.

If the Handback is blocked because of excessive damage on the vehicle your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer will be asked to contact the Handback Team on 0870 111 8885 (Option 2) for assistance.

Stage Four

The purpose of the CP50

By signing and submitting to the DWP, you are authorising the DWP to make direct payment to Motability Operations of the required element of their allowance.

Details on completion of the CP50:
The top details will be pre-printed my Motability.

Your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer should enter the estimated date of delivery in the relevant section of the paragraph immediately below the pre-printed details. This will be used as guidance by the DWP. You then need to select whether they have single of multiple allowance in the centre section of the CP50.

Select:

  • A – If there are no their benefit entitlements (except care component). You are advised to sent the CP50, to the DWP in Blackpool \ Belfast (see note in bold below)
  • B – If there are other benefit entitlements. You must take or send the CP50 to the local DWP office.

Taking or sending the CP50 to the DWP is your responsibility. Local district offices (Job Centre Plus) are able to authorise single allowance customers. All War Pensioners CP50’s must be sent to the Veterans Agency in Blackpool for actioning.

The ‘safe date’ at the bottom of the form shows the date from which your allowance will be withheld. It is essential that your Inchcape Volkswagen Motability retailer be in receipt of the signed and stamped CP50 prior to registering the car. Under no circumstances should you take delivery of the car before this date, as you will be liable for any shortfall of your allowance due to Motability Operations. The safe date must be entered online at Handover.
